RENE MATHIJSSEN After many years of photographing, I have discovered that my preference has shifted toward black-and-white photography. The reason for this choice is my belief that black and white reveals the essence, while color conveys the atmosphere. Despite this preference, many images are still produced in color. I have followed many courses at FotoUnie with Ki Tan, which has resulted in a very broad range of interests and a highly diverse body of work. These courses have led me to develop and execute concepts and to direct models. What I also find important is that the images presented are experienced as pleasant to look at.
