MARJA KOOLE I was born in the heart of Amsterdam in 1964, grew up in Lelystad, and later met my great love, Jaap, in Nunspeet. We got married on May 30, 1990, and we are still happily together. Despite having completely different hobbies (Jaap enjoys organ music and I’m into equestrian sports), we developed a shared passion for photography. And we now spend a lot of time on that. We have taken various workshops and masterclasses in landscape, nature, and equestrian photography, and we have also done some model photography. In September 2025, we founded a photography club in our current hometown, Wekerom. It’s really taking shape, with 20 members already. It’s great fun to help people get started and to spark their enthusiasm for photography. I also work with Sony equipment and am very satisfied with it. From wide-angle to telephoto lenses—everything is used well and often. Together, we love going out for fun workshops, a day of city photography, heading into nature, and running after horses. We’re having a great time. Only the post-processing takes a lot of time—but hey, it’s part of it and secretly also a lot of fun! We are absolutely thrilled with the photos Ki took of Jaap and me—truly amazing. Jaap has already explained in his bio what the story is behind the bottle of whisky in our photo.
