I am
CORINA BLOK 10-12-1961 I started photographing at the age of 16. With money I earned myself on weekends, I bought a small camera, and since then I have photographed all kinds of subjects. What I especially enjoyed was taking unexpected photos of people. While studying Visual Arts at a teacher training college, I took various photography courses and learned about composition and viewpoint, as well as how to develop and print photographs myself. Fifteen years ago, I began attending a wide range of workshops and courses. Through these, I learned many other photographic principles, such as macro photography, night photography, and studio photography. Since 2016, I have been a regular visitor at Ki Tan, and I have also learned a great deal from Bart Siebelink. It was there that I met Marian Smeets, and since then we have been loyal photography companions. I have learned a lot from her. We regularly meet in the central Netherlands (or at Ki in Tilburg) to photograph together. I really enjoy going to Ki; it is always a pleasant and friendly place, and I have learned so much there. I also greatly enjoy photographing in a group. I am not particularly interested in heavily editing photos with, for example, Photoshopapart from some minor adjustments. For the past ten years, I have held a diving certificate, which opened up a completely new (photographic) world for me. In the beginning, I mainly photographed the various fish I encountered for the first time, but now I focus much more on interesting backgrounds and viewpoints. Underwater, I love photographing on my own. I am a teacher and take many photographs of students at events such as the Christmas gala, graduation ceremonies, musicals, and school trips. Occasionally, I also teach photography courses as an elective subject. I am far from finished with photography!
