MONIQUE VORSTENBOSCH 29.10.1970 Photography didn’t start for me with a business plan, but with a gift. In 2012, for my birthday, my mother gave me my very first Canon camera. A few weeks later, I was holding it in Indonesia. Sun, colors, chaos, people, stories — and suddenly I knew: this is it. No turning back. Since then, it has all been about looking. Really looking. I’m not afraid to be different; I create images of real moments, with an eye for detail. To deepen my knowledge of photography, I completed a basic photography course and attended workshops in evening photography, light painting, color powder, and more. I am also a member of Fotoclub Bernheze and part of its activities committee. Currently, I am following a photography program in Arendonk (Belgium). My favorite genres are nature photography, cosplay, travel photography, street photography, and photographing small festivals. I also enjoy photography trips; for example, I have traveled to Africa, La Creuse (France), and Veurs (Belgium). As an entrepreneur, I ran my own car company and therefore did a lot of automotive photography. But recently, I’ve felt ready for a new challenge. At the Fotofair, I ended up at a color powder workshop by Ki Tan — energy, enthusiasm, and creativity were flying all around me. More workshops followed, and even more ideas. Inspiring? Absolutely. I don’t believe in perfect pictures. I believe in images with life, an edge, and sometimes a subtle wink. And yes… sometimes that means walking along and waiting. Simply trusting your instincts. Because the most beautiful photos can’t be directed — they happen. Until everything comes together. Click. I still have plenty to learn and just as much to discover.
