I am
MONIQUE VAN DEN BERG 03.09.1960 I have had a camera in my hand for about 20 years, but I only really started photographing in the last 4 years. At that time, I joined a photography club (Fotoclub Lingewaard) because I wanted to truly learn how to photograph. I learned a lot there about the basics of photography and eventually outgrew my camera. I bought a much better one when I joined CCC Fotounie and got to know the advanced aspects of photography through various workshops. I now own a Sony A7RV, lenses from Sony, Samyang, and Sigma, and accessories from K&F Concept. Although I initially found portrait photography terrifying, after taking the 'directing models' course at CCC Fotounie, I completely changed my mind and love studio work now, although unfortunately I don't own the equipment myself. Besides that, I spend a lot of time outdoors capturing images that 'grab' me. That could be a person or something from nature. I enjoy trying something new all the time. It's fun to go out together, talk about it, have a buddy with you, but in the end, you end up photographing what you really want most. But always together till the end. Once at home, I look at the photos, and the ones that truly appeal to me are edited in Lightroom and Photoshop. It's wonderful when a really beautiful photo/photo edit comes together; I can truly enjoy that. My example photographers are: Rineke Dijkstra, Erwin Olaf, Stephan Vanfleteren, Mathijs Frenken.
