JOHN HERTEL 28.11.1954 I started photographing around the age of 18. What fascinates me most is capturing the moment. I completed a higher professional education (HBO) in computer science and, in addition, followed many courses at the Grafisch Lyceum. I also studied communication. In my role as a communications assistant at a large company, I often had to photograph projects. I learned a lot from this and have since gained a great deal of experience. Now that I am retired, I have plenty of time to attend workshops and I can often go out to take photographs. I especially enjoy photographing in zoos and shooting landscapes. The workshops I attend focus on photographing subjects that I would not easily be able to do at home. Through the Fotofair, I came into contact with CCC FotoUnie. It is a fun and enthusiastic photography group where enjoyment of photography comes first and where enjoyable and interesting workshops are also organized.Photographing with a group or with a friend is what I enjoy most of all. I photograph with a Panasonic Lumix DC-G9II system camera because this equipment is considerably lighter than a DSLR camera. My additional equipment consists of several lenses, namely: Panasonic MFT 12-35mm F/2.8, Panasonic Lumix G Leica DG 35-100mm F/2.8 Panasonic Lumix G Vario 100-300mm F/4.0-5.6 mark II, MFT 12–35mm F/2.8 For my macro photography, I use extension tubes.
