I am
HOK GOEI 1956 When I was 15 years old, my father gave me a camerahis old Fujica rangefinder. He had been an avid amateur photographer for many years and was also a member of a photography club, and he wanted me to try it out to see if I would enjoy it as well. This marked the beginning of a hobby, not continuously but with long breaks due to studies or busy work commitments. In fact, I used to enjoy working in the darkroom much more than taking photographs itself. For that reason, I continued using my analogue camera (a Nikon FE) for a long time. It wasnt until 2006 that I switched to a digital camera, although even then I would occasionally still shoot a roll of film with my Nikon SLR analogue camera. Only after 2020, and especially after my retirement in 2022, did I really become serious about my photography hobby. Before that, I usually took my camera with me when traveling for work or leisure. I now photograph with a Nikon Z6-II and Z6-III. When I look at my recent photo collection, I mainly see landscapes and people, but also macro and architectural photography. So, in fact, I dont really have a favorite genre. More recently, I have become acquainted with studio photography and astrophotography, which are a nice addition to my repertoire. In 2025, I connected with Ki for a workshop in his studio, and I intend to take several more workshops there. Its fun and enjoyable to practice your hobby with others and be creative together. I live in Delft with my girlfriend and our cat, but I was born in Surabaya (Indonesia).
