I am
HENK FRANKEN 31-12-1964 In everyday life I work as a technical draftsman for underground cables, pipelines, and infrastructure at a large utility company, and I live in Bergen op Zoom. From a young age I have tried to follow my fathers motto. He enjoyed drawing and painting and always said to me: There is always something beautiful to see; you just need to keep your eyes open and learn how to look. This motto led me to various forms of art and resulted in my choosing Drawing and Art History as two of my main subjects in high school (HAVO). At home we often went on day trips, and my father would take photographs either for the family album or as references for his paintings. More and more often he would hand me his camera and say, Now its your turn. In 1990 I bought my first camera, a Minolta Dynax 7xi. And although there have been periods when I photographed very little, photography has remained one of my major hobbies ever since. Today I use a Sony A7 III. My interest in photography covers a wide range of subjects, from vintage aircraft to landscapes, and from old buildings to model and portrait photography. I often try to give my photos a distinctive twist or atmosphere. In 2014 I started following CCC Holland, where I noticed photographs from various model and portrait photography workshops. This was something I was very interested in myself, but I didnt know how to get in touch with models. At the end of 2015 I attended my first workshop with Ki and his team. Many workshops and masterclasses followed afterward, including sessions at Studio By Marije with Marije Dijkema, a Dutch photographer from Purmerend who mainly focuses on fantasy photography.
