I am
DORA VAN DE LOO 18.09.1951 For more than five decades, photography has been the common thread running through my life. What began in the 1960s as a curious fascination grew into a deeply rooted passion and professional craft. In those early years, I was given the unique opportunity to learn from two experienced photojournalists. They not only taught me technical skills, but also impressed upon me the importance of patience and a keen eye for detail. Over the years, I have seen photography evolve. The transition from analogue to digital was a true revolution, challenging me to embrace new techniques and continuously expand my knowledge. Today, artificial intelligence (AI) has become an integral part of the profession. As a photographer, I see it as my responsibility to make use of this technology in order to further enhance my creativity and efficiency. My work takes place mainly in the studio. In this controlled environment, I can endlessly experiment with light, shadow, and composition in search of the perfect image. Each project offers new opportunities for innovation, continually reigniting my love for photography. Alongside my professional life, I enjoy a rich family life. Together with my partner, two daughters, and grandchildren, I experience great joy. Photography continues to play an important role in capturing our cherished moments, making memories tangible. For me, it is more than work; it is a source of inspiration and challenge that has driven me for 56 years. I look forward to continuing to discover the world through the lens of my camera for many years to come. In addition to photography, I have also immersed myself in theatre, both in set design and in writing and performing my own texts.
