I am
ANNA SYAHARI-VOS 1975 My creative journey began in 1995 in Indonesia, where I was born in Malang. I worked behind the camera there. For me, an image is never merely a record, but a way to understand stories and give them direction. I am shaped by contrasts: East and West, silence and expression, the perspective of being in front of and behind the camera. In 1996, I moved to the Netherlands. This shift deepened my work on themes such as identity, culture, and femininity. These remain a constant undercurrent in my visual language. In 2014, I began working in front of the camera through CCC FotoUnie. It started as modeling work, but grew into a shared creative vision. I am a co-founder of CCC FotoUnie, an open platform where concept, styling, emotion, and storytelling come together. Within this collective, I collaborate closely with Ki Tan, Yayang, and Arnold Fieten. My role here goes beyond modeling; I am co-creator and a conceptual driving force. My work moves between strength and vulnerability. My images are layered and narrative, exploring themes such as Beauty, Meel & Melk, Honey, Artistic Nude, ZWG, Indo Show, Sara Moon, wappershoot, and Flood. For me, modeling is a dialogue. I do not only embody a concept, but also think and feel along with it. My experience behind the camera shapes the image, and my life experience gives it meaning. I stand for modeling work in which age is not a limit, but deptha presence that shows who I have become.
