ANITA VAN DONGEN 07-05-1968 During the COVID period, I increasingly immersed myself in photography. As a medical pedicurist, I was forced to close my business, which made that time especially challenging. In a period when everything seemed to come to a standstill, photography helped me focus on the small details: light, moments, and my surroundings—things that often go unnoticed in busy daily life. Since then, photography has grown into a true passion. My camera equipment consists of Sony cameras and a variety of lenses. Through a workshop, I joined FotoUnie in 2024, and it immediately felt right. The warmth, kindness, and hospitality of Ki and my fellow participants really resonated with me. Here, I have mainly learned to step outside my comfort zone, thanks to the diversity of workshops and Ki’s broad creativity. It gives me new insights, challenges me, and shows me that I am capable of more than I ever thought. I discover possibilities I would otherwise never have seen. I do not have a single favorite genre within photography. Travel, nature, people, culture, and photography are inseparably connected for me. During my travels, I enjoy discovering new landscapes just as much as I enjoy the stories of people and the culture that shapes them.
