TIM TITSING Door mijn grafische opleiding heeft fotografie mij altijd geboeid. In het verre verleden heb ik zelf films ontwikkeld en afgedrukt, het bekende doka gebeuren. Maar dat is nu verleden tijd. De digitale wereld heeft fotografie een totaal andere dimensie gegeven en daardoor andere mogelijkheden. In de loop der jaren heb ik gezocht naar een vorm van fotografie waar ik mijn creativiteit in kwijt kan en uiteindelijk is dat “straat fotografie met een touch” geworden. Maar ook abstracte fotografie en foto’s maken in de natuur hebben mijn interesse. Helaas is de natuurfotografie door mijn fysieke beperkingen wat minder geworden. Op mijn website www.andersbelicht.eu staan foto’s en werken die ik de afgelopen jaren heb gemaakt. Wat ik in mijn foto rugzak heb om mee te werken is OM Systems, de OM-1 mark 2 met diverse lenzen b.v. groothoek, tele, fisheye en macro en daarvan de pro versies en voor in de natuur diverse filters van Benro en Nisi. En ook de flitser van Godox AD200 gaat mee. En niet te vergeten mijn opvouwbare krukje. En dan nog……waarom fotograferen we? Is dat omdat wij het verleden willen vastleggen,of iets bijzonders willen fotografen, of een herinnering van wat we beleefd hebben. Of is het fotograferen toch iets mystieks uit het verleden met de donkere kamer en het zelf ontwikkelen en afdrukken en nu bereikbaar is geworden door iedereen die een camera kan bedienen of dat nu een telefoon of een camera met echte lenzen is. De digitale techniek heeft daar een bepaalde invloed op gehad dat “waarom we fotografen” een nog breder platvorm heeft gekregen.
TIM TITSING Because of my graphic design education, photography has always fascinated me. In the distant past I developed and printed film myself—the familiar darkroom work. But that is now a thing of the past. The digital world has given photography a completely different dimension and, with it, new possibilities. Over the years I have searched for a form of photography in which I can express my creativity, and eventually this became “street photography with a touch.” Abstract photography and photographing in nature also interest me. Unfortunately, due to physical limitations, nature photography has become less frequent for me. On my website, www.andersbelicht.eu, you can find photos and works I have created over the past years. The gear I carry in my photo backpack includes OM Systems equipment: the OM-1 Mark II with various lenses such as wide-angle, telephoto, fisheye, and macro—mostly the Pro versions. For nature photography I use various filters from Benro and NiSi. I also take along the Godox AD200 flash. And not to forget: my foldable stool. And then… why do we photograph? Is it because we want to capture the past, photograph something special, or preserve a memory of what we have experienced? Or is photography something mystical from the past, from the days of the darkroom and developing and printing by hand—now made accessible to everyone who can operate a camera, whether that is a phone or a camera with real lenses? Digital technology has certainly influenced this, giving the question “why we photograph” a much broader platform.
