Mijn levenslied is:
HENK GROEN 1956 De liefde voor fotografie begon thuis, want toen ik opgroeide liepen beide ouders altijd met een camera rond. Ik ben een fotograaf met technische achtergrond, met een diep gevoel voor bewaren van het moment en een blijvende fascinatie voor beeld en geluid. Op fotogroen.fun deel ik fotografie zoals ik die beleef: met plezier, nieuwsgierigheid en ruimte om te ontdekken. Mijn basis, in lijn met de tijd, ligt in de chemische doka, tussen ontwikkelaar, stopbad en fixeer, waar beelden langzaam tevoorschijn komen op die bijna magische manier. Later kwam ik via een elektronica opleiding terecht in de digitale wereld, uiteindelijk als mededirecteur van een softwarebedrijf. De techniek was en is nog altijd mijn bondgenoot. Tegenwoordig werk ik vooral met hoge resolutie Sony-camera’s en maak ik detailrijke beelden die als fotobehang tastbaar worden. Ook theaterfotografie met emotie in de spotlight blijft boeien. Bewegingsvrijheid wint het vaak van zekerheid dus alleen een statief als het echt nodig is. Tijdens het ontwikkelen probeer ik mijn gevoel van het moment terug te vinden: (kleur)verzadiging als verwondering, scherpte als emotie en glans met een vleugje mystiek. Omdat software alles mogelijk maakt, is juist terughoudendheid mijn belangrijkste uitdaging. Beelden van anderen verrassen me telkens en verruimen mijn blik. Mijn eerste ontmoeting met de CCC FotoUnie was op de FotoFair 2019, waar ik onverwacht de Sony-fotowedstrijd won met een beeld uit hun workshop. Diverse CCC workshops en een fotoreis leverden mooie beelden, nieuwe invalshoeken en vrienden op. Daarnaast werkte ik mee aan boekprojecten waarin de geschiedenis van een kerkgemeenschap werd vastgelegd. Het leerde me hoe belangrijk het is om mensen dichtbij te fotograferen en beelden zorgvuldig te bewaren. Want vroeg of laat klinkt altijd dezelfde vraag: “Heb jij die foto’s nog?” Mijn elevator pitch: Ik neem fotografie serieus genoeg om er plezier in te houden.

I am a photographer with a technical background, driven by a deep desire to preserve moments and a lasting fascination with image and sound. On fotogroen.fun I share photography as I experience it: with joy, curiosity, and room for exploration. My foundation, true to the spirit of the time, lies in the chemical darkroom—among developer, stop bath, and fixer—where images slowly emerge in an almost magical way. Later, through an education in electronics, I entered the digital world and eventually became co-managing director of a software company. Technology was, and still is, my ally. Today I mainly work with high-resolution Sony cameras, creating richly detailed images that can become tangible as photo wallpaper. Theatre photography, with emotion in the spotlight, continues to fascinate me. Freedom of movement often outweighs certainty, so I use a tripod only when truly necessary. During post-processing I try to rediscover the feeling of the moment: (color) saturation as wonder, sharpness as emotion, and shine with a touch of mysticism. Because software makes everything possible, restraint is my greatest challenge. The work of others continually surprises me and broadens my view. My first encounter with CCC FotoUnie was at PhotoFair 2019, where I unexpectedly won the Sony photo contest with an image from their workshop. CCC workshops and a photo trip brought strong images, new perspectives, and friendships. I also contributed to book projects documenting the history of church communities, which taught me the value of photographing people up close and preserving images with care. Because sooner or later, the same question always comes up: “Do you still have those photos?” My elevator pitch: I take photography seriously enough to keep it fun.
